Edit and Rotate Sketches in SOLIDWORKS
Using the Sketch Modify Tool
To rotate an entire sketch in SOLIDWORKS, follow these steps:
- In an active sketch, click Modify Sketch from the Sketch toolbar or Tools > Sketch Tools > Modify from the menu.
- Select the sketch entities you want to rotate.
- Click the Rotate tool from the Modify Sketch toolbar.
- Specify the rotation angle and click OK.
Using the Rotate Sketch Command
Alternatively, you can use the Rotate Sketch command to rotate a sketch:
- In an active sketch, click Tools > Sketch Tools > Rotate Sketch from the menu.
- Select the sketch entities you want to rotate.
- Specify the rotation angle and click OK.
Editing a Rotation
To edit a rotation, double-click the rotation feature in the Feature Manager Design Tree. You can then modify the rotation angle or select different sketch entities.
Tips
- Hold down the Ctrl key to rotate the sketch around the cursor.
- Use the View Cube or View Toolbar to orient the sketch before rotating it.
- You can also use the Measure Tool to measure the rotation angle.
